I have been his patient since a car accident in 1999. I had seen other psychiatrists, but none compare to Dr. Cohen. My son eventually needed therapy, too. Dr. Cohen was the second therapist we used due to insurance reasons. The difference was magical. My son listened to Dr. Cohen, and he respected him. If you are looking for a doctor who cares, listens, empathizes, then he is your man. If you want a quick, in and out doctor, then forget it, he is very thorough. Expect to wait for your appointment, he is not a timer on a clock! Some take longer, some less. Depends on the patients.So, if you are reading this and are his patient, remember he has a schedule for the rest of us, please.
Weird place - Dr. Cohen seems good but then again he uses his office staff in a good cop / bad cop scenario. I have to laugh at all the rules posted on the door before you walk in. And when you call in with a question about meds you get a return call in 2 days suggesting you go to the ER. Just have to laugh.
possibly the most genuine and down to earth man i have ever met. he has helped me immensely.
Best doctor, worst staff. Rude, don't return phone calls, won't listen long enough to see if they can help you, would rather let the phone ring to answering machine than help patients, won't help refill meds even in emergency cases. All things I've experienced over the last three years of being a patient. Answering service is rude and unhelpful, will not be going back, which is sad because the doctor really has been a remarkable help, but I can't continue to be abused in this way by my PSYCHIATRIST'S OFFICE.
