Never been stopped here but from what I see is they do a great job.l personally go down town every Sunday to the city and they the city police are always there, plus so is the mayor she's a great person l like her you all do a great job.

I had my bicycle locked to the bike rack on Spanish street behind the Columbia while I was working. I finished my shift and was about to ride my bike to my second job and my bicycle was missing. I reported my bike stolen and a few days later got a call that they found it. When I went to the station to pick it up officers interrogated me and threatened to arrest me for theft. They explained that someone said my bike was theirs and they cut the lock and gave it to them. The problem is that this person had no proof of ownership besides a photograph from six months before of a similar looking bicycle. They called the guy they gave my bike to and according to them he said he moved out of town and took the bike with him. After more than half an hour of being threatened for my freedom I spoke with the captain who admitted they made a mistake. He offered to replace my bicycle and then never contacted me again. I several times went to the station to get my reparation and was turned away and never contacted. They destroyed my lock, stole my bike, gave it away, threatened my freedom, accused me of being a thief, lied about having my bike, and lied about replacing it. S C U M B A G S

I wish I could have got his name but I really appreciated his helpfulness. I live an hour and a half south and it would have been a long walk home. So thank you so much.

St Augustine’s finest. Friendly and professional officers. I’m proud to live in St Augustine and have our wonderful city under the watchful eyes of the men and women of the St Augustine Police Department. Thank you for your service officers and Thank you for keeping our city safe. We all appreciate what you do.

This is a tourist town. Thankfully the police here are not like typical tourist town police. They do not really write traffic tickets unless you are being a complete idiot. In some places they just write everyone tickets knowing if you are from out of town, they will get paid. I am so glad to live in a town that treats visitors with respect, and a police force to love.

I got separated from the person I came with and both our cell phones died. A nice policeman took me to find the vehicle where I last knew we parked.
