This place is incredible! By far the best experience I have ever had visiting wildlife. No zoo compares. You are practically face to face with the most beautiful animals; wolves, lions, tigers, leapords, bears. The volunteers are amazing. I can't wait to go back.
Wonderful animals.
Best place to visit in town! A must for animal lovers. All rescued animals
We went and played with wolf puppies and it was the most amazing thing! The sanctuary is only doing this while they're young to raise money for their enclosures, so go see them before their too big! We also toured the rest of the sanctuary and seeing all the big cats and other animals was sooo incredible! The volunteers work tirelessly to give these animals a comfortable life when they can't be released back into the wild.
I think that the reason not very many people has heard of this is because they make it hard for guests to share photos of these awesome creatures. I know. They give you CD's. It's different when you can have pics of them from their natural setting. Not from a Cd. So I will not recommend it to friends because of the unfriendly atmosphere.
Loved the animals that they were being rescued. Didn't like that the animals are in very smaller cages!! The cats looked like they were restless. I would have liked to see them put these animals in bigger space to roam in. Hated the fact that they're militant about guests taking a picture or two of animals at a safe distance. I was in the middle of using my phone halfway through the hot walking tour at 2 PM to text a friend and a son and the two assistants just wanted me to know phones were not allowed. If I can go to San Diego Wild Animal Park, world class San Diego Zoo, Busch Gardens and Disney's Animal Kingdom for a lot more entrance fees and exposure to wilder animals and be able to Take pictures, why is this wild game reserve not able to let paying guests take a pic or two.
Also, why would you give a walking tour on the hottest part of the day??? At 2 PM? Why not at 9AM when it's cooler? Again. I love the animals, I did not like the unfriendliness.
Amazing tour from an amazing staff who all VOLUNTEER their time and talents to keep this worthwhile reserve open. Very informative and intriguing.
