Management was given a written list of at least 10 items that were in need of correction/repair. We never heard from management team after leaving the list and none of the items were taken care of during our stay. Also 1 supposedly clean wash cloth was turned into management that appeared to have human excrement on it.
Large 3 bedroom units; huge central courtyard and great staff!
This year was by far our worst experience and the fact that Management did not respond in any way was very disappointing.
2nd time vacationing in this unit. I've been absolutely thrilled to stay here. So accommodating my family always enjoys themselves and reasonably priced.
One last note: I don't know how I forgot to mention this previously, because it completely ruined the vacation for my grandparents (they ended up having to leave after 3 days because of the pain my grandfather was in, and we traveled all the way from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), but my grandfather actually got the top of his right middle finger chopped off in the door (literally chopped off, it was laying on the floor, the ER doctors were unable to reattach it). It was extremely windy one day, and we had the deck door open, my Pap was leaving through the front door, and was reaching for the screen door handle when the heavy front door was violently blown shut and his finger was caught in the jam. It not only took off the top of the finger at the knuckle, but it also shattered the bone in his finger below it. I know this is a bit of a freak accident, but since the door didn't have any safety precautions at the top of the door (the ones that cause a door to close slowly rather than slam), it was extremely dangerous in high winds, which are basically every day being down by the beach. If you have small children, please be careful! This was 6 months ago and his finger is finally about fully healed, no thanks to colony Reef, who didn't feel that this injury was any of their responsibility, nor did they believe it necessary to install any type of safety features on the door to prevent this from happening again. Keep in mind that my Pap is not a small or frail man, and this took off his finger like it was slicing through butter, so if this has been a child with a small hand, this could have been immensely worse.
We rented condo #2203 for 7 days from 7-8-17/7-15-17. Very disappointed. This was our 26th year to rent at this location with our 2 adult children and their families who also have separate condo's.
My family and I stayed the Colony Reef Club on November 2016 (Google prompted me to write a review for this location after posting pictures, which reminded me that I had forgotten to do so beforehand). Firstly, it would have been wonderful if we had atleast been allowed to bring a bottle of water or something down to the pool with us. Nothing at all allowed in large pool area, even though tables are provided. During our stay a mother with two young children was kicked out of the pool area for bringing a small cooler with water for her toddler and formula for her infant. It really made me rethink staying in that location again. Also, my family and I tried playing a bean bag toss game in the courtyard. It was entirely empty at the time, and we only took up a small amount of space, and although we were not carrying on by any means, we got a "citation" on our door the following day for "playing sports" in the courtyard. We were told we could be fined and evicted because of it. Ridiculous! Definitely not worth the money with all the "policing". The only reason I'm still giving the colony Reef Club even 2 stars is because it really is a beautiful location, just ashame management ruins it. Oh also- left an expensive engagement ring on the dresser in my room, didn't realize until I was home and called to ask if it could be sent to me. Well it was never found, according to management. I know it was my fault for forgetting it, but it is frustrating knowing that someone in their cleaning staff obviously pocketed it. So be extremely careful leaving anything behind. Also, one of the toilets in our two bathrooms didn't work when we arrived, and neither did our air conditioning. The air was fixed the following day, so no big deal, but the toilet wasn't fixed until the day before we left, and we had to waste the whole day sitting at the condo while it was repaired since it took awhile and management wouldn't send anyone else over to meet and deal with the repair man. Lovely waste of a last whole day of vacation. I think this location is honestly a gamble because I've seen plenty of great reviews, as well. Should have 1 star but as I previously stated, the location beautiful. Stay at your own risk!
I have been staying at this condo for years and this year will be my last, the floors were dirty, the dryer did not work and we had to run it continuously. The microwave had no handle upon check in and this was the only item on my complaint list the office corrected. I called to complain twice about neighbors smoking on porches and nothing was done so we were unable to use our balcony porch due to the cigar and cigarette smoke. We had an infant with us and this was just unacceptable.
