Stayed here in a small 5th wheel. It is a beautiful park with a lot for someone who loves being by the sea.We saw the lighthouse, the fort, the quarry , and did a lot of beach walking.
This is a great state park for day use. Yes, there is a lot of camping spaces, too, but the access is very difficult for big rigs. The entrance office has a list of the few sites that are big rig accessible but they are optimistic. Most of the sites are buried in the brush and old oak tree canopy so it can get pretty still on a hot day. Yes, a lot of trails and space makes this very appealing to active families and the beach is huge.
Was looking for more nature than just beach. I'll come back for a beach visit later.
