We'll definitely return, though worry that our review will make it harder to get a room...

We loved our stay here even if it was for 1 night. This is the first hotel we have stayed in that has wood floors. The decor is new and modern and had everything we needed. I loved the shower!! Very elegant and all was clean. The lobby also was nice and so was the breakfasts. The front desk service was nice and friendly. We highly recommend staying here and we will definitely return. Also forgot to mention while you are here take the red train around the city. Pick up is right around the corner. The narrated tour allowed us to see the city and history at another level.

We got this room through a blind website, and I was a little dismayed when I saw which property we got. I then went and read reviews. It certainly has an excellent reputation with guests. The websites, that sounds a little like mice fine, didn't treat me as well as the property did. Our room was freshly renewed with lovely furnishings and a very comfortable bed. The internet worked great, and they have a great system on breakfast in the morning. You can either enjoy their continental breakfast including waffles for free, or accept a $5 off voucher for the on-site restaurant. The on-site restaurant did a nice job with breakfast. The website rated this property at three stars, and that is a bit much. I usually expect interior hallways for that type of rating. Still, I would put this property at a solid 2.5 Stars. It was a solid value, though a bit too far to walk to the downtown attractions.

We stayed at Jaybird's in July. The room was nice and modern, it was quiet. The pool was plain not very inviting so we didn't go except for once. Breakfast was waffle, toast, donuts lots of sweet sugary stuff. So not my cup of tea. They did give us vouchers to discount eating at the restaurant but we didn't. Overall, it was good. If we go back we might stay there if it's for 1 night. But because of breakfast, if we stayed for multiple nights, we'd probably choose a different place with more choices on the savory side.

We've been to St. Augustine too many times to count, but this was our first stay at Jaybird's Inn. Only a weekend visit, but liked everything about the room. Was very clean and really liked the updated features: large sink top, great walk-in shower w/high shower head, tile floor (why don't all Fl beach town hotels have tile floors?). Really liked the beautiful photos on the wall that were taken by the owners. Staff were friendly and allowed early check-in. Borrowed bicycles (and locks) were in great shape. Continental breakfast is sparse, but good, incl a couple of different coffees. Also tried the restaurant next door and really liked the food (homemade marmalade and biscuits were great). Was impressed w/the small workout area adjoining the pool. Unexpected for a hotel this size, but was nice riding the bike while watching baseball on the tube.

BEWARE!!!!BEDBUGS!!! DO NOT STAY HERE. If I could give no stars, I would. This motel has BEDBUGS. I checked in, thought the lobby was nice, went to my room, everything looked clean and new from a first look. Due to getting bed bugs from a previous hotel in Orlando, and breaking out in an allergic reaction from the bites A year ago, I ALWAYS check before bringing my stuff into a hotel. As I peeled back the sheets on one of the beds I see a dead bug I thought looked like ant, I pulled the fitted sheet off the mattress to reveal a mattress protector, on this is where I found a LIVE bedbug and the "popcorn kernel" like shedding of their skin from growing larger. I immediately called the front desk who took 15 minutes to actually show up to the room after having to call them a second time. I took pictures and video of this also.... I got a refund but had to scramble to find a new hotel because I refused to move into a different room at this bedbug hotel. For those who have stayed here recently, call your local pest control because more than likely you will have bedbugs too.Good luck.
